In an article originally posted by GamesTalk.net, MAGES. CEO Chiyomaru Shikura was interviewed in regards to his plans for the future of the series.

After the release of Anonymous;Code, Shikura is interested in creating a title similar to “The Avengers” or Super Robot Wars, except with the Science Adventure series. He wants to develop an original story where characters from the entire series join forces. In his words “It’s about time something pushes the series’ world one step forward.”

As for Anonymous;Code, they’re looking to report on the state of its development and announce its release date in a conference before the end of the year. He mentions that the reason that the game has taken so long to develop is the fact that the science and technology related to Anonymous;Code’s plot are evolving day by day, and the game is being constantly revised to account for that. In addition, they want to maintain consistency with previous entries in the series, and the consistency checks to do that add to the long development time.

Shikura states that in Anonymous;Code’s story, hacker protagonist Pollon Takaoka mistakes the player themselves for a hacker. The game is being developed under the assumption that it will be adapted into an anime, and because of that, exciting scenes in the game will be illustrated and portrayed in manga-style. Players will be able to interact with the game by choosing the next panel or choosing between speech bubbles to change the flow of the story or the details of the dialogue accordingly.

Shikura also mentioned that he is interested in giving classic anime such as “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and “Evangelion” the Steins;Gate Elite treatment, which would involve creating visual novel adaptations of the two shows featuring their existent animations in place of the traditional visual novel graphical style.

On a final note, Shikura teased that MAGES. is currently developing multiple projects and is aiming for ten releases throughout 2021, including ports of existing games to other platforms.
