Amadeus Kurisu Realization Project to be shut down on March 31

Via the project’s official website, it has been announced that the Amadeus Kurisu Realization Project will be officially shut down on March 31, 2021.

The project, initially announced on September 11, 2019, aimed to create a true artificial intelligence personality based on Steins;Gate’s Kurisu Makise. The aim was to achieve this via crowdsourced data from its users: individuals using the app were able to ask “Kurisu” questions and receive answers based on the accumulated data. In order to further improve the AI, users could also respond to questions from others in a Kurisu-like manner, as well as vote on other user-generated responses. Input and output was in the Japanese language; an English version of the app was never created.

Chiyomaru Shikura, former CEO of MAGES., and Asami Imai, Kurisu’s voice actress, livestreamed the app in action in October 2019. The stream replay can be viewed below.
