UPDATE 24.9.2025
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected medical emergency, I was unable to travel to Japan last Sunday as originally planned. Because of this, we must postpone the project until a later date. This was a really tough decision to make, as we were all really looking forward to the content we had planned.
Please rest assured that this project is still very important to us and it isn’t cancelled — just postponed. As soon as we’re able, we’ll pick things back up and share a new timeline with you.
If you would like more details on what happened, you can check this video where I explain everything
Again, we are very sorry that we need to postpone the project. Thank you all for understanding and your support.
We’re excited to finally share an update on the Tokyo Project! The final preparations are complete, and we’re only a few days away from our departure for Tokyo. With that in mind, we would like to let you know what to expect and when.
Every episode in the series will launch alongside a Patreon special behind-the-scenes video about the Tokyo Project. These videos will be exclusive to our paid Patreon subscribers, and they will cover how everything was planned, filmed, and edited. This series will be released weekly in five to six parts.
That’s far from all we have planned, though! We will also be doing a deep-dive article and video on the real-life story of the sumo stickers from Chaos;Child, as well as Japan’s street art in general.
Another video we can confirm is one covering the Tokyo Game Show. We will be attending two days of TGS; we’re still working on the final preparations, so we cannot confirm what we will cover specifically yet. But rest assured that we will have a video from TGS.
We have some more videos planned, but we would like to keep them a surprise for the time being. They will be released between the real-life locations videos based on how we’re doing with the video editing. Would you also like to see some general Japan travel videos or tips alongside our SciADV coverage? Let us know in this feedback form or on this post on X/Twitter or Bluesky . We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
If you’d like to support this project, you can help us out by making a paid Patreon subscription or by purchasing any of our Patreon-exclusive articles and collections. We also have a PayPal donation link available for anyone who’d like to contribute directly. Every bit of support helps us bring you the best possible content we can provide.
Thank you all for your support!
