MAGES. announces BANDSTAR, a new rhythm game

Announced yesterday via Twitter, MAGES. will publish a new rhythm game this winter. Entitled BANDSTAR (or “BAND STAR,” as the company seemingly uses both), the game will allow players to put on their own “live performances” of popular songs—such as those from YOASOBI, AKB48, and Omoinotake—as though they were were the guitarist, bassist, drummer, or keyboardist themselves.

MAGES. has announced plans to debut a demo of the game at Tokyo Game Show this year on September 27 and 28. Players who visit the Happinet booth and try BANDSTAR out will receive a complimentary guitar pick themed after the game.

BANDSTAR will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch this winter for 6,380 yen. An English-language release has not yet been confirmed.
