Patreon Update: Free Membership, Collections, and More

Salutations! We’re bringing you this updated Patreon article to share some recent changes—both on Patreon’s side and ours—that we think are important for you to know about.

The biggest change is that you can now become a free Patreon member, which gives you access to our free Patreon content. We primarily use Patreon for behind-the-scenes posts, and not all of them are paid. Moving forward, we’d like to offer a mix of paid and free articles. So if you’re interested in the behind-the-scenes side of KKB, don’t hesitate to become a free subscriber.

As for paid access, we’re keeping our subscription price at 1 EUR per month, which grants access to all Patreon content. If you don’t wish to subscribe but are still interested in specific Patreon-exclusive articles, each paid article is now also available for 3 EUR. While we’d love to keep this price at 1 EUR as well, this is the lowest amount possible on Patreon due to taxes.

We’re also now offering so-called “collections”, which are bundles of related articles that you can purchase at a lower price than buying each article individually.

One such bundle is the “KKB History Series” collection, available for 5 EUR. It features 19 articles from the KKB History series, one video, and two special articles that explore similar topics.

Another collection is “Revisiting Old Articles”, which includes our latest Patreon series. In this series, we go back to KKB’s very first articles and discuss their history, behind the scenes, and how the Science Adventure series has evolved over the years. This collection is also priced at 5 EUR.

Some of our Tokyo Project content on Patreon will be included with the subscription, while other parts will be available for free. Articles included in the subscription will also be available for individual purchase, and once the full project is published, you’ll be able to buy the complete collection as well. Pricing for one-time purchases hasn’t been finalized yet, but all Tokyo Project content will be included in the 1 EUR subscription. This content will feature behind-the-scenes posts, Patreon-exclusive extras, and early access to some regular content.

Thank you!

As always, we truly appreciate your continued support. The help we receive through Patreon has allowed KKB to remain ad-free and fully functional for the past few years.
