Welcome back everyone! As of this article, the SciADV Fan Showcase series is now a year old! Our next showcase article will be a special one, so keep an eye out for it.

In the meantime, we’ve got three wonderful pieces of art from three wonderful artists to showcase. Without any further ado, let’s get into it!

RogiShin – Chaos;Child artwork

>

Chaos;Child’s visual novel is unique in that it sets up its own unique, somber tone and atmosphere. The visual novel’s art-style is a huge factor in making this possible, and I’m happy to say that RogiShin did an excellent job of capturing this tone in their own way.

Not only is this piece beautifully well-drawn, but the placement of Serika and Takuru alongside the Sumo Stickers and the Di-Sword also makes for some awesome visual symbolism of what the novel’s Silent Sky End represents to the story as a whole.

Cyan Los – Okabe’s Argument

Cyan Los’s “Okabe’s Argument” is a piece that we fell in love with for various reasons—the level of detail that went into drawing Okabe here is absolutely stunning, and it’s plainly obvious that Cyan Los has loads of experience when it comes to drawing fictional characters.

While Okabe may be the centerpiece of this artwork, the props and their respective holders do a great job of building the piece’s character and humor. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a scene like this in Steins;Gate itself!

FlLTHYCITY – Okabe and Kurisu illustrations

When we first found FlLTHYCITY’s Okabe illustration, it was love at first sight. The well-defined strokes alongside confident shading allows the piece to depict the mad scientist aspect of Okabe in a way that is accurate and visually powerful. One can immediately tell that the artist is incredibly talented and has the potential to reach even greater heights.

And indeed, it’s clear that FlLTHYCITY is constantly reaching greater heights when one takes a look at the Kurisu illustration, created after the Okabe illustration. This depiction of Kurisu is charming in its color scheme and its shading, and it does an awesome job of depicting an iconic scene from Steins;Gate in a manner that is cute and completely befitting of Kurisu’s character.

FlLTHYCITY’s Twitter account can be found here. There’s definitely more where this came from, so be sure to check them out!

That’ll be all for now! Be sure to tune in next time for our “Super Special Showcase”, in celebration of the series’ first year anniversary!
