MAGES. has officially announced an August 20, 2026 release date for Steins;Gate RE:BOOT and revealed a brand-new opening movie and showcase of the game’s character animations. The game is expected to launch in Japan on PlayStation 5 and 4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and the original, and PC.
Originally announced during the series’s fifteenth anniversary celebrations, Steins;Gate RE:BOOT is a full remake of the original 2009 visual novel, featuring completely redrawn visuals, updated story CGs supervised by original artist huke, enhanced depictions of Akihabara, and new story content not present in the original release.
MAGES. has also published a new E-mote demonstration video showcasing the game’s animated 2.5D characters. The footage offers a glimpse at the game’s characters with smoother idle animations, blinking, lip movement, and subtle body motion.
Several editions of the game are planned for the Japanese release, including limited and ultra-limited editions featuring soundtrack collections, art books, live concert footage, and exclusive illustrations by Steins;Gate artist huke.
