New information regarding an English release of Steins;Gate Re:Boot briefly appeared online on the official website. Shortly afterwards, the website was locked and password protected. This has led to speculation that the page may have been published accidentally ahead of a planned announcement. Another possibility is that some of the information displayed on the site was incorrect or unfinished, prompting its temporary removal.
The most interesting information on the page was the listed English release dates. According to the website, the Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions would release on August 20th, the same day as the Japanese version. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 versions were listed for August 29th.
The website also mentioned that physical editions of the game would only be available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Because of this, the delayed release for those platforms could simply be related to shipping or distribution of the physical edition.
Additionally, the website included information about a special SteelBook Edition for Nintendo Switch and Playstation. According to the promotional image, the edition would include a SteelBook featuring newly drawn artwork by huke, alongside a 4.5” clear water-resistant sticker. Pre-orders were also listed as already available but none of the pre-order links were working.
At the time of writing this article, neither MAGES. nor Spike Chunsoft have officially announced release dates for the title through social media or press releases.
At the moment, it remains unclear whether the release dates shown on the website are legitimate. Still, the appearance of a fully prepared English website strongly suggests that official international release information may be imminent.
Steins;Gate Re:Boot was originally announced in October 2024 as a full remake of the original Steins;Gate, featuring completely renewed graphics, updated character artwork by huke, and additional story content. The title was initially planned for a 2025 release.
