MAGES. has announced in a press release that Chiyomaru Studio has bought all MAGES. stocks owned by Dwango, a Japanese media company which is also a direct subsidiary of Kadokawa Corporation. This buyout means that MAGES. is no longer a subsidiary of Dwango or Kadokawa.
Chiyomaru Shikura has stated that he hopes that this independence from Kadokawa will lead to better company management and business decisions. All MAGES. games, music, and other media will use the unified “MAGES.” branding from here on out, and the previously used “5pb.” branding will be depreciated.
While MAGES. will no longer be a subsidiary of the Kadokawa Group or Dwango, it has been stated that they wish to maintain a positive relationship with both companies in the future.
