Tokyo Project announcement

After many months of preparation, it is our pleasure to finally announce that we will be going to Tokyo at the end of September 2025! We will be visiting for two main reasons: to make videos showcasing the real-life locations seen in the SciADV series, and to cover the Tokyo Game Show—but we’re also preparing some additional content we think you guys will like!

What content we can confirm right now:

  • Videos showing off real-life locations from Chaos;Head, Chaos;Child, Steins;Gate, Occultic;Nine, and Anonymous;Code, including where to find them
  • Detailed articles explaining how you can visit these locations, with Google Earth KML files included so you can easily import them into your own maps
  • Video showing off Tokyo Game Show (We will confirm further details in the future )
  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes content for Patreon supporters
  • Trip coverage and insights on our social media
  • If there’s enough interest, we would also like to produce some general Japan travel-related content, not necessarily related to SciADV

When can we expect this content to be published?

While we don’t have the exact dates set in stone yet, we’re aiming to start publishing our Japan content from October 2025. As we get closer to the trip, we’ll start posting exact dates, so keep an eye out!

What about Robotics;Notes?

We wish we could show off Tanegashima as well—it’s one of the most unique locations of the entire SciADV series. Unfortunately, we do not have enough time or the budget to go. Flights to Tanegashima are expensive, and although taking a ferry is an option, it would be too time-consuming on our current planned schedule. Nonetheless, we hope to be able to show you Tanegashima on a future trip one day.

We need your help

This is going to be an expensive project—there’s no two ways around that. While we’ve managed to secure the budget for the main content we’d like to make, we want to bring that content to you in the highest quality possible—and in terms of equipment and software, that will unfortunately require additional funding.

To give you the best possible coverage of what Japan has to offer for Science Adventure fans, we are currently requesting donations—and any amount helps. If you’re interested, we recommend subscribing to our Patreon, as you’ll gain access to over fifty Patreon-exclusive articles from us, with many more on the way. If you’d rather make a one-time donation, you can check out some of our Patreon articles and bundles that are sold separately. You can also contribute via PayPal—but do note that there are no rewards attached to PayPal donations.

Your contributions will allow us to produce the best content we can while we’re in Japan in September. All money raised will go directly toward editing software and filming equipment we will use on the trip.

We have some additional content planned that we can’t share the details of at the moment, but we’ll keep you updated on our social media. Closer to the trip, you can expect to see a detailed list of content we plan to post to the site and our YouTube channel.

If you have any questions or suggestions regarding this project, please let us know in the form below. We will answer submitted questions in an update article toward the end of July. Thank you all for your support!
