Steins;Gate RE:BOOT sells 15,000+ physical copies in first four days

Via Famitsu, initial physical sales numbers for Steins;Gate RE:BOOT are now available. These figures account for the game’s first four days on the Japanese physical games market. View the details below:

  • Nintendo Switch 2: 7,613 copies sold; 4th place of all charted games this week
  • PlayStation 5: 4,002 copies sold; 5th place of all charted games this week
  • Nintendo Switch: 3,538 copies sold; 9th place of all charted games this week
  • Total: 15,153 physical copies sold across all platforms.

These figures suggest a modest success for the title as compared to previous SciADV series launches, although they fall fairly short of Steins;Gate Elite and Steins;Gate 0’s launch numbers. View our comparison below for reference:

  • Anonymous;Code (2022): 10,146 copies sold over four days on two platforms
  • Robotics;Notes DaSH (2019): 7,194+ copies sold over four days on two platforms; does not account for Elite + DaSH bundle sales, which reportedly sold over 4,360 copies combined
  • Steins;Gate Elite (2018): 30,442 copies sold over four days on three platforms
  • Occultic;Nine (2017): 10,441+ copies soldĀ over four days on two platforms; does not account for unmeasured Xbox One sales
  • Chaos;Child Love Chuā˜†Chu!! (2017): 6,240+ copies sold over four days on one platform; does not account for unmeasured PlayStation 4 sales
  • Steins;Gate 0 (2015): 85,547 copies sold over four days on three platforms

Readers should bear in mind that all mentioned numbers account forĀ physical game sales only, while recent interviews with MAGES. staff suggest that digital sales numbers have increasingly begun to account for larger sales percentages in recent years. Moreover, Famitsu’s reporting does not account for Chinese or Western sales numbers, physical or digital, which likely account for a large number of additional sales outside Japan. All told, what’s missing from Famitsu’s numbers might paint a much more promising picture of how well Steins;Gate RE:BOOT is selling overall.
